Bet David is located in the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, just behind of the walls of the medieval city, as shown in the map below. At least until 1391, there was a thriving Jewish quarter close to the cathedral, both inside and outside of the city walls. Unlike the neighboring Girona and its charming historical streets, few remains are left of the medieval Jewish Barcelona.
